'It's true you can't live here by chance, you have to do and be, not simply watch or even describe. This is the city of action, the world headquarters of the verb.' (Lauris Edmond)

This photo is one of a multitude of typographic ‘text sculptures’ designed by award-winning Wellington typographer and graphic designer Catherine Griffiths.
They form part of what is known as "Wellington Writers Walk."

These are dotted along the Wellington waterfront, and sometimes in the most obscure places.

Each sculpture contains a quote by a well-known New Zealand writer who has strong Wellington connections.

This one just happened to appeal to me...

"I live at the edge of the Universe like everybody else", Bill Manhire
I live at the edge of the Universe

"I live at the edge of the Universe like everybody else"
written by Bill Manhire, New Zealand's first Poet Laureate
