Wellington flowers 2007 - Cam Theme - 17

Greetings to you all for the first PetesCam views of 2007.

Maybe it's the "shocking" weather that has kept me indoors for most of this early summer - or the lazy holiday mood... Either way, these pics from my garden and others' will be the celebratory New Year Cam Theme to kick start 2007.

Enjoy...
Here's a link courtesy of NZ House&Garden magazine - an article with pics that I aspire to be able to take. Paul McCredie is the photographer...

There are 11 pics in this week's "CAM". Click on the image for a larger view.

dandelion

herbal tea anyone?
personally I'd rather blow it to bits whilst making a wish for world peace...
do I sound like a hippie?
succulent spiral

I've got a THING for succulents - must be their solid architectural form - or perhaps the fact they are low maintenance plants
pink rose - swirl
for all you northern hemisphere CAM viewers...
hydrangea blue - detail
inner rose highlight

the bee flew away as I got nearer with the lens, but I am fine thank you - escaped without being stung... this being the result
white arum lily close up
I'm quite surprised at the detail my entry-level camera can pick up...
pink hydrangea - detail
I wonder what this would look like as a painting with a tree frog resting on it...
fuchsia - at least I know the name of this one...
It might even appear on my ArtBlog at some stage when I tire of red eyed tree frogs.
Tiny Blues
If these are weeds, they're very pretty ones...
not much bigger than the nail of my pinky finger
Garden weeds in the breeze -
this one surprised me, considering it was taken on a windy day - which is just about every day in Wellington...

By the afternoon, the mower man had removed all evidence of my photographic exploits taken that morning.
Garden Weeds
Who would have thought that on closer inspection, garden weeds in flower could produce a pleasing photo.
I'm still amazed at how fast the rate of growth on these are...
