Previous posts can be viewed by clicking on the "Archives" section to the right.
If there is a particular suburb or Wellington icon you would like to see - it just may already be on my blog. Check the top right of this main page to search it out.

Feel free to comment on any image...

Afternoon tea anyone?

Who would have thought a whole shop - dedicated soley to the pleasure of tea drinking would be found in the city...

Words and curves...

On the corner of Lambton Quay and Ballance street is this sculpture by Ralph Hotere and Mary McFarlane.
The letters and the pillar holding them up were from the State Fire Insurance building which was demolished in the early 1980's.

Art Deco...

This image is of Te Puni Kokiri House - the Ministry of Maori Development.

'Fallopian' fountain... that was my wife's first response on seeing it.

Actually, it is called ‘Ngā kōrerorero’ - (the ongoing dialogue) by Colombian artist Silvia Salgado. It represents the relationships and communication between friends and family and is located in Wellington’s Midland Park on Lambton Quay.

Remains of the day

Wellington Old and New...

Wellington Blue and White...

Quite by chance...

Of itself an ordinary photo, but to anyone far from 'home' it stands out by a mile...
