Sunsets - Cam Theme - 18

Sunset
- that almost magical time of day when the reflective light becomes an amazing spectacle.

This photo of the Johannesburg skyline is an all time favourite of mine - (not taken by me and I don't own copyright to it...)
Enjoy all the pics and if you have a favourite, please feel free to place a comment (how? - click the "comments" link directly under the post you would like to say something about...)

There are 11 pics in this week's "CAM".
Click on the image for a larger view.
Previous posts can be viewed by clicking on the "Archives" section to the right.
If there is a particular suburb or Wellington icon you would like to see - it just may already be on my blog. Check the top right of this main page...

The next "CAM" theme will be entitled "Oddments" - those photos which don't quite seem to fit into any particular category - so check back around the 10th March...

GUEST PHOTO:

GUEST PHOTO:
This was sent to me from the Cook Islands, and I simply had to share it here...
"this is a photo my wife Kay took last year from the back of our garden here in Rarotonga. Cheers Ian"

Raroa sunset stitch 2

This is a 3 photo stitch of the view from our deck. As with all stiched/joined photos they are best viewed in larger mode by clicking on the pic...

Raroa yellow

Another one of those..."Wow, that's cool..." moments.
It was only this colour for about a minute or so...

Kaikoura, New Zealand, Sunset 14

This is one from our all time favourite New Zealand holiday spots...

- not quite fitting into the Wellington theme, but certainly good for the sunset theme...

Raroa Sunset
From our deck looking north west - a stitched photo of two joined photos...

Mt.Kaukau sunset
Looking west towards the transmission tower on Mount Kaukau...

Jet stream sunset...

It's mostly in winter time that we get to see the jet streams like this.
Captivated by the reflection of light of them, it's now on the CAM for all to see...

This was one of those strange, almost surreal views.
the cloud blew up from the south to create a somewhat eerie feel - another stiched photo

Mout Kaukau vertical...

Another view from our deck -

Me trying to get as much of the sky into the frame as possible...
Sunset Blue...
Every so often the camera manages to capture a view that is truly unique... (I'm a point and shoot 'photographer')

None of my pics are visually 'doctored' in anyway - other than cropping and resizing - so this particular coloured sunset is interesting to me.

Sunset from our deck - looking due west...

Now, some interesting info on the tree silhoette:
that is the way the wind blows most of the time here where we live.

Wellington, the windy city - now you can see why, but... you STILL can't beat Wellington on a good day

This panorama shot of Mana Island is one of my favourite stitched photos.
The best way to look at it is to click the photo and view it in large mode.
