This from Leanne: 

This picture was taken in Dec 2012 in Hillbrow which is currently South Africa's most dangerous suburb.

I was in a 'Sonny boys shabeen', enjoying a cold black label quart. It was an interesting day...

It is cosmopolitan and I love the way this photo captures bits of it including the traders, shoppers, schoolgirls, police vans, revamped buildings, neglected buildings, smart cars, everyday cars, adverts for a 30 minute abortion, adverts for a prophet, the streets are littered with rubbish, but also leaves from the 100 year old trees. People, by day, seem to get on with their business, but its not somewhere you would walk the streets at night.

On my earlier Cam Theme of Candid Black and White Photos of People, Yvonne sent me some pics that reminded her of some candid photos she had taken. I couldn't decide which ones I liked best so decided to put up two  pics she sent me, since I like them both.

What better way to end off this Cam Theme with something totally the opposite...

This one was taken by Ray Theron from Australia who's photo's inspired THIS blog - but the vivid colour of the phone booth was captured when he was in São Paulo, Brazil, last year.

This one of Lake Vänern in winter - comes from my old school pal, Warwick Anderson - who now lives in Sweden...

From Warwick: "This photo was taken on the 7th Feb at 1:16:07pm.
On the edge of the archepelago off Kållandsö (get this: Gabbagpatch Island) on the great lake of Vänern in Sweden which covers an area of 5,655km2.
We had walked out onto the 15cm thick ice cover of the lake, which was carpeted by an endless layer of 30cm deep snow. The idea behind it was to clear a track and do some ice-skating.
The thick mist just seemed to blend into the horizon and it was hard to tell where the lake ended and the sky started."
